Your Operational Roadmap: What to Expect at ChemEdge 2020

For years, ChemEdge has served as a premier forum for chemical distributors to educate themselves on important regulatory issues, gain awareness of the latest products and services available to our industry, and connect with experts and peers to discuss new and innovative solutions to the evolving challenges we face every day. While COVID-19 has required that we make some changes to this year’s format, we’re excited about the ways we plan to ensure that, while your experience at ChemEdge may be different this year, the impact of the event on our industry remains unaltered.

For the first time in ChemEdge history, we will be offering an entirely virtual experience for attendees who have travel restrictions in place or would feel more comfortable participating from the comfort of their home, in addition to an on-site event. The on-site meeting will take place in Indianapolis on Monday, Aug. 17 through Tuesday, Aug. 18, running just two days rather than five to limit participants’ time away. Look forward to a packed agenda!

Participants who are able to join us in Indianapolis will find that we’ve taken all the precautions necessary to host an in-person event safely. We’re closely monitoring guidance put out by the City of Indianapolis and the CDC, and will continue to work with our hotel partner to make this experience as safe as possible. We plan on using socially-distant seating and are working to space exhibition booths further apart. Meals will be pre-packaged, and PPE will be widely available.

The three-day virtual experience runs from Sept. 1 through Sept. 3 and features the same sessions and smart insights as our in-person offering, plus a few extra sessions that won’t be included in the live event. We’re also rolling out new features, such as a fully-accessible recording of the event for up to 60 days afterwards, in addition to new functionalities in our app that allow attendees to schedule get-togethers and virtually interact with vendors and other meeting participants in real time. Virtual participants will be able to chat with each other online, network, and even virtually visit our expo hall. In-person ChemEdge attendees will have access to all of the virtual offerings as part of their event package.

As always, ChemEdge will feature all the robust sessions attendees have come to expect from this event, in addition to several opportunities to interact with vendors. Attendees can look forward to an introduction to the 7th Cycle of Responsible Distribution from our own Jim Benning, in addition to a Fishbowl Roundtable on COVID-19 and countless other valuable learning opportunities.

Whether you’re a CEO or just getting started in chemical distribution, we’ve made it our priority to ensure ChemEdge has something for you. While this year’s event may feel different than normal, we promise that it has everything you’ve come to expect — regardless of how you plan on attending.
