Unlock Your Potential with Our Emerging Leaders Program

NACD has been celebrating its 50th anniversary and 30 years since our landmark Responsible Distribution program launched. While we are incredibly proud of our past successes, the association is always looking to the future.

We have started accepting applications for our next intake to our Emerging Leaders Program.

Since the initiative launched in 2013, it has helped some outstanding young talent forge a career in chemical distribution – shaping the next generation of business leaders and providing them with the essential skills to succeed.

This is your chance to apply or nominate one of your colleagues for the class of 2023!

If you have the drive, ideas, and ambition to address the challenges facing our industry – and meet them head-on with innovative and strategic thinking – we want to hear from you.

A strong leader isn’t necessarily the most senior person in the company.  It is also someone with the potential to lead a team and be a pivotal contributor to the success of their organization.

We want to find individuals who have demonstrated leadership and management abilities and have the drive to build on those skills.

This is not only a phenomenal opportunity for the participants themselves but for our association, and the wider distribution industry in general.

Continuous improvement has always been a cornerstone of NACD’s philosophy. For our members to be truly successful, it’s crucial to invest in our people.

We have an enormous pool of talent available to us, and it’s up to us to keep them invested in chemical distribution so we don’t lose them to another career choice. We hope to broaden their horizons so that they grow in knowledge and stature and make a real difference in the industry. We hope for them to become more involved with NACD and to inspire future generations too. These are the leaders of tomorrow.

For a nominal fee, the 20-month program includes the training and guidance they’ll need to develop the fundamental skills to succeed. They will learn about everything from problem-solving and relationship-building to communication skills and how to overcome the everyday hurdles of management.

They will be joining a close-knit, trusted group that will be able to network, share ideas, and form invaluable bonds for the rest of their careers.

We ask our candidates to attend a few training sessions each year, commit to their personal success, and ideally have at least five years of professional experience in the chemical industry.

As emerging leaders, they will also have the opportunity to participate in our highly-acclaimed mentoring program, where we will match them with a senior executive from one of our member companies. They will also have the chance to serve as an observer on one of NACD’s committees and go behind the scenes to hear first-hand about the latest issues affecting the industry, regulatory challenges, Responsible Distribution, and so much more.

We’ll be reviewing applications by the end of the year and hope to reach out to the successful candidates in January. We will then invite them to an introductory virtual meeting in February to meet their fellow classmates and attend several events over the following months.  Moreover, they will have the opportunity to meet in person and benefit from some exceptional speakers and interactive sessions.

We will only have a limited number of spaces available. Be sure to check out ChemBytes and the website, https://www.nacd.com/emerginleaders for more information!
