No matter your company’s size or specialty, whether a major distributor or a small family-owned business, Responsible Distribution is proven to help enhance your operations and improve Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security risk management programs, allowing you to gain and retain new customers.
We are hugely proud that NACD’s mandatory third-party verified environmental, health, safety, and security initiative has become the yardstick by which chemical distributors are measured. In fact, it has become so respected and trusted in the chemical community that some suppliers now ask for participation in NACD Responsible Distribution® program.
We understand the process can be a little daunting for those starting out on their Responsible Distribution journey. Prospective members sometimes have concerns about the amount of work involved or having adequate staff resources to meet all the requirements – but we're here to help every step of the way.
Several years ago, NACD established the “Candidacy Class” to provide dedicated training opportunities and resources to those new to NACD and Responsible Distribution. The Candidacy Class also helps provide networking between those new to and veterans of Responsible Distribution.
An abundance of resources is available on NACD’s website to help companies develop and subsequently maintain strong Responsible Distribution programs. These resources come in the form of manuals, guides, assessment tools, tutorial videos, and online learning courses. NACD also offers in-person workshops and periodic webinars to assist companies with their training needs further.
Of course, Responsible Distribution is a common theme running through our popular ChemEdge and Annual Meeting events too, so there are always plenty of opportunities to ask questions and find out more.
If you need a little more assistance, our Responsible Distribution Advisers are also available to offer a deep dive into any of the codes, or to support you with your specific needs and any gaps you need filled.
NACD members report saving on average $15,000 each year on operations, audits, and risk management. Consider it an investment for the future.
There are many benefits:
In 2021, Responsible Distribution celebrated 30 years of continuous environment, health, safety, and security improvements in the chemical distribution supply chain.
Responsible Distribution is helping to raise standards across the industry. Companies that bear the logo are able to demonstrate they’re committed to continuous improvement, follow best practices, and meet the exceptionally high standards our colleagues, customers, and communities expect.
