Workshop: Getting to Grips with International Trade Requirements

Faced with ever-changing rules and regulations, chemical distributors face plenty of challenges when offering goods or services across borders or territories.

To help you understand the latest requirements, NACD’s upcoming spring Regulatory Workshop will focus on international trade and will provide an invaluable update on the latest developments to help ensure you’re meeting your obligations.

The day-long seminar on March 10 will help you navigate the many complexities and myriad fees, duties, and tariffs.

Rather appropriately, it’s taking place in Long Beach, California – home to one of the world’s busiest ports – and there are still plenty of spaces available if you’d like to attend.

We’re pleased to be joined by Deborah Stern, a member of the Import and Export Practice Group at the law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. Deb is very knowledgeable about the intricacies of international trade, having worked with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Washington, D.C., and with many of our members over the years.

She’ll be facilitating the workshop and providing a deep dive into the trade-related regulatory issues affecting the industry, covering everything from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, custom declarations and trade requirements, the China Section 301 tariffs, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and import compliance. We’ll also be discussing the U.S.-Mexico-Canada free trade agreement, the Generalized System of Preferences, the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill, and best practices.

We’ll be packing a lot of information into the session, providing key takeaways for anyone responsible for trade compliance. And of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for questions.

This is the third year NACD has been running regulatory workshops. We’ve had fantastic feedback, with attendees leaving confident they can help their companies comply with the ever-increasing number of regulatory requirements.

The “NACD Regulatory Workshop: International Trade for Chemical Distributors” is taking place at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel on Tuesday, March 10, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (PT).
