Earlier this year, NACD’s Responsible Distribution did away with its traditional three-year Verification Cycle format to bring the environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability program in line with other management systems and help make onboarding easier for new members. NACD member companies now need to focus on their own verification timeline, which is dictated by the expiration date on their certificates.
With that in mind, we are encouraging members to start conducting their verifications early and be among the first to go through the new program. And, as an extra incentive, NACD is offering a 10 percent discount on the verification cost if you complete the process prior to June 30, 2023!
Responsible Distribution 2023 allows you to demonstrate to suppliers, customers, and stakeholders that your business is committed to prioritizing environment, health, safety, security, and sustainability within your organization and community.
Meeting the Responsible Distribution requirements and completing the verification process is a condition of membership for all Distributor members and Chemical Handler Affiliates. New members have up to three years to implement their program and go through verification.
Make a note of your end date/expiration date and work backwards to ensure you allow yourself sufficient time to get through verification without worrying about it expiring.
To help better prepare you for the requirements of Responsible Distribution 2023, NACD has produced a series of verification tutorial videos that are now available on our website. Each of the videos touches on specific steps in the process, making it easier to digest the recent changes and reorient yourself with the verification dashboard.

And remember, you can access many other useful tools and resources through our website to guide your through your verification – including the Code Coordinator Manual, Starter Kit, Gap Assessment Tool, as well as workshops and webinars. Companies will also need to complete the five new Responsible Distribution 2023 NACD U courses prior to their first verification under the new program.
To be eligible for the 10 percent discount, be sure to conduct your verification before the end of June.
