Maximizing Our Training and Educational Resources

Employee training is a critical component of any chemical distribution business. Given the industry’s nature and supply chain position, ensuring employees are appropriately trained and adequately prepared to carry out their designated duties should always be a priority.

That’s why NACD is constantly trying to diversify its training and professional development offerings with accessible and affordable courses to broaden your skills in various areas, including safety, operations, Responsible Distribution, regulatory and legislative issues, management, general business skills, and more.

After all, training is a central pillar of Responsible Distribution, with employee training elements woven into nearly all of the Codes of Management Practice.

We’ve all seen first-hand with the pandemic just how important it is that companies train their people properly, so they’re ready to deal with any eventuality. It’s also shown us how critical the need is to have others trained as backups – with the necessary skills to step in and fill the void at any moment.

NACD focuses on being as flexible and adaptable as possible to meet our members’ ever-changing requirements by providing these valued resources both in-person and online. That’s meant seeking new instructors and different types of training beyond our usual workshops, webinars, and NACD U online courses.

Among these new additions was the recent Microsoft® Office Excel® training session, which had a phenomenal response and quickly sold out. Plans are now being finalized for the addition of a Pricing Manager Certification course and Hazard Communication/Globally Harmonized System training later in the fall. More information on these will be available soon.

And don't forget that ChemEdge is fast approaching! Not only have we planned a great line-up of speakers, breakout sessions, and training topics from an operational perspective, but we’ll also be launching the new Responsible Distribution program and providing a deep dive into all the changes coming in 2023 along with the new sustainability code.

We aim to ensure you get maximum value from your membership and that you see us as the go-to destination for all your training needs. We’ve got an exciting roadmap of courses and workshops ahead and always welcome suggestions for new topics and instructors.
