Make a Real Difference by Becoming a Committee Member

Have you ever thought about playing more of a role in NACD and shaping the future of our industry? Are you interested in driving policy and ensuring businesses like yours are properly supported and represented? If the answer is yes, then why not consider joining one of our committees?

We want to draw on the huge pool of talent, knowledge, and experience within our membership to make each of these committees even more effective. By volunteering, you’ll also be helping to expand the recognition of NACD and the important work we do.

Whether you want to network and foster connections with others, share your knowledge and expertise, or influence the strategic direction of our association and the wider chemical distribution industry, we’d love to hear from you. This is your opportunity to make a real difference.

There are plenty of different committees and sub-committees where we’d welcome your contribution:

• Education Committee, including the ChemEdge Subcommittee;
• Finance & Investment Committee;
• Leadership Development Committee;
• Regional Programming Committee;
• Responsible Distribution Committee;
• Warehouse Committee;
• Membership Advancement and Retention Committee, including the Producer Affiliate Relations Subcommittee;
• Government Policy & Advocacy Committee, and its seven subcommittees: Chemical Product Safety, Facility Process Safety, Environmental, Security, State Issues, Trade, and Transportation.

Each committee is headed by a chairperson and co-chair, and typically has 12 seats based on a three-year rotation. They also include at least one NACD board member, along with a member of our staff.

Whether you’re involved in sales and marketing, a Code Coordinator, regulatory officer, or quality assurance expert, we value your expertise. It doesn’t matter whether you’re starting your career, or a seasoned professional, if you’d like to be more involved in the association, please reach out to us. Your participation is crucial for our success.

This vital role means identifying opportunities and selecting strategies that will better meet our members’ needs and achieve our objectives to make us stronger, safer, and more sustainable moving forward.

We want your ideas and input about the direction NACD should take in terms of policy and how we best address the industry’s various issues and challenges.

Committee member undertakings include participating in conference calls every quarter and getting together for an in-person meeting, which typically coincides with either ChemEdge or NACD Annual Meeting.
