Keeping You Connected With Virtual Conferences

NACD’s meetings and conferences are a mainstay of our calendar – with packed programs, leading speakers, and the many networking opportunities regularly attracting hundreds of participants. Yet while the coronavirus pandemic has meant we’ve had to change some of our plans this year, we’re pleased to be able to offer those exact same benefits to our members through our new virtual events instead.

In the coming months, you’ll be able to attend some of our most popular meetings from the comfort of your own home or office.

At the click of a button, you’ll have access to valuable analysis and commentary on everything from the latest regulatory and legislative issues to safety, security and Responsible Distribution – everything you’ve come to expect from attending one of our events in person.

So, what should you expect from a virtual conference? Is it very different from our usual events? And how do you get the most out of it?

Our team has been working extremely hard these past few months to create an experience that’s as close to the real thing as possible and packed with all the same great content.

Through our easy-to-use online platform, you’ll be able to join sessions, interact during the presentations, and even participate in a live Q&A.

Some of our meetings will also have an exhibit hall component, where attendees can actually visit virtual booths, watch demonstrations, access handouts, or talk with vendors directly.

We recognize just how important networking is, so we’ve implemented a brand-new mobile app that lets you communicate with other attendees too.

We’ve even created an online chat lounge to capture that feeling when you usually meet all your friends and colleagues waiting in the lobby before a presentation – perfect for a quick catch up. And if you want a one-to-one conversation, you can arrange an appointment for a mutually agreeable time to connect offline.

Not only that, but all attendees have instant on-demand access to all the presentations after each session too, so you won’t miss a thing.

So far, the feedback we’ve received has been extremely positive, and we thank you for your support during this exceptional period. Hopefully, we’ll be able to build on this momentum and run companion events soon as well - perhaps a hybrid conference where we can meet both online and in-person.

Ours is a very traditional industry where face-to-face meetings have always been an important part of our everyday lives. But this is a different world we’re now living in, and each and every one of us has had to get used to social distancing, online meetings and video calls.

If this is to be the “new normal”, NACD wants to make sure we can benefit from these new technologies and opportunities to access all the information and insight that our members value so highly.

We look forward to you joining us in the future.
