Join NACD for the Northeast Region Meeting

In just a few weeks, the last of this year’s regional meetings will take place in Portland, Maine.

Regional meetings have become a staple of NACD’s calendar, allowing members to meet and network, learn about the association’s activities and achievements and discuss policy and all the latest issues affecting the industry. It also provides an excellent education opportunity, with a selection of handpicked speakers offering insight and guidance about how best to grow and develop your business.

Each of the four regions – West, Central, Southern, and Northeast – convenes once a year to engage with their local network of industry peers and develop their operational best practices.

“This September’s event will be the first in-person Northeast region meeting since 2019 – and it will be well worth the wait,” says Robert Carroll, NACD Northeast Region President and President of R.E. Carroll, Inc.

“Each region offers very different venues, experiences, and flavors,” says Carroll, “but these meetings are really all about the people; you may be competitors day in and day out, but when it comes down to it, we’re all just trying to grow our respective businesses and we have the same goals.”

Over the course of a few days, starting Monday, September 27, attendees will be able to enjoy receptions, roundtables, and a range of presentations.

Among them, economist Robert Fry will be scrutinizing the current market conditions and sharing his outlook for U.S. manufacturing and the chemical industry.

Author Todd Cohen will be in attendance as well, sharing his expertise about building a sales culture that can boost your profitability and competitiveness.

Succession planning is also on the agenda, with Liz Weber of Weber Business Services sharing ideas on preparing for the future and creating a robust recruitment roadmap.

Other highlights include a presentation from BluePallet’s Scott Barrows, who will be explaining the pros and pitfalls of e-commerce, as well as an interactive session from Edward U. Lee, III, of Whiteford Taylor Preston about how to draft the perfect contract.

“This is your chance to network with peers, to talk about some of the challenges we’ve been experiencing, and find out how others are overcoming those obstacles,” adds Carroll.

These meetings are a great alternative to the larger national events and allow distributors in those regions to invite and involve additional personnel at a lower cost rather than just senior management.

The Northeast Region meeting is taking place at the AC Hotel Portland Downtown Waterfront in Portland, Maine, from September 27-29.
