Capitol Hill is Calling: Join the 2025 Washington Fly-In

Capitol Hill has shifted dramatically since the last time we gathered as an Alliance in the halls of Congress, making this year’s Washington Fly-In an invaluable opportunity to forge important relationships with decision makers, advance our policy priorities, and enact the changes we all wish to see in our industry.

Join ACD in Washington, D.C., May 14-15, 2025, for our premiere advocacy event. This is your chance to meet face-to-face with members of Congress and regulators as we advocate for – and educate on –the issues that affect your businesses and the industry at large.

This is a particularly important year for this event, as we have ample momentum for policy change with President Trump’s administration and the new Congress.

Those on the Hill are eager to learn more about their constituents and the essential services you provide. And remember, you don’t have to be a policy expert to participate. ACD’s team will be on hand to offer support and provide all the information and training you need.

Before heading to Capitol Hill, we’ll run you through policies and key talking points, offering advice on how to maximize the time spent with the representatives.

After a day of advocacy and relationship building, we’ll unwind at the evening reception, where we’ll announce the recipient of our second annual ChemPolicy Champion Award. This award recognizes the contribution of a policymaker who has collaborated with ACD to address the issues that matter most to our members. Last year, the inaugural award went to Representative John Moolenaar (R-MI).

On Thursday morning, we look forward to welcoming several members of Congress for an open conversation on some of the most pressing issues affecting chemical distribution.

Attendees can continue their morning by choosing to participate in the regulatory track, where they’ll have the opportunity to meet with key regulatory officials, or returning to the Hill to resume meetings with lawmakers.

Among the most pressing issues to be discussed this year will be the Superfund tax, which has heaped a huge administrative burden and additional costs on manufacturers, producers, and importers since its reintroduction. Although it’s technically due to run through to the end of 2031, there have recently been bills introduced to repeal it.

Another area of focus will be trade, where we’ll highlight the potential impact of tariffs on ACD members, along with advocating for the renewal of the Generalized System of Preferences and the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill.

The Washington Fly-In is a fantastic, must-experience event that draws so many ACD members back year after year. First time joining us? This is the perfect opportunity to engage and establish a long-lasting, fruitful relationship with your elected officials.

For added convenience, we’ve arranged a special ACD room rate for accommodations right in the heart of Capitol Hill at the Yotel Washington D.C. – making the commute to your meetings easier than ever.

Join us this May to help advocate for change. Together, our voices are stronger.
