Brenntag’s Tom Corcoran and Datacor’s Sean O’Donnell Receive Lifetime Achievement Award; TransChemical’s Lynne Bukovic and Seeler Industries’ Steve Seeler Named Distributors of the Year; Environment & Safety Solutions, Inc.’s Pete Downing and Rachelle Alexander Named Affiliates of the Year
Arlington, VA – Today, the National Association of Chemical Distributors announced the winners of its Lifetime Achievement Award, Distributor of the Year Award, Affiliate of the Year Award, and Employee of the Year Award during the last day of the association’s 2021 Annual Meeting.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the association, the Lifetime Achievement Award honors NACD members who embody the spirit of NACD Responsible Distribution® and help move the chemical distribution industry forward by continuously advancing stewardship and creating connections.
The Distributor of the Year and Affiliate of the Year Awards recognize NACD distributor members and Affiliate members, respectively, who make significant contributions of time and talent for the betterment of the chemical distribution industry, who contribute special achievements in chemical distribution, or who provide outstanding service to fellow NACD members or Affiliates.
The Employee of the Year recognizes an association employee who excelled at serving the mission and objectives of the NACD as well as providing performance in service to the membership and fellow employees.
Lifetime Achievement Awards
Thomas Corcoran, Senior Vice President, Global Key Accounts, Brenntag S.E., NACD Distributor Member
Tom Corcoran has been an active member of the association with growing responsibilities for 25 years. He served on committees and the board during many of those years. As Chairman of the Board, Tom brought his business acumen to NACD leading the board’s focus on membership value and growth as well as by increasing member engagement in numerous programs. He enhanced NACD’s partnerships within the industry and globally. Tom was recognized for his unwavering dedication and hundreds of hours of care and commitment to the leadership of NACD with the Distributor Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sean O’Donnell, Chairman, Datacor, Inc., NACD Service Provider Affiliate
Since 2002, Sean O’Donnell, Chairman, Datacor, Inc., has been a super advocate for NACD and its members. From day one, he has been an active participant and contributor to the success of NACD members. Sean and his company built a software solution specifically for the chemical industry providing complete visibility and precise control over all operations from manufacturing and distribution to inventory and customer management. He believes vigorously in this community, in the Responsible Distribution principles chemical distributors operate by, and in creating resources for family businesses who have limited resources. Sean was recognized for his unwavering support and dedication to chemical distribution for twenty years with the Affiliate Lifetime Achievement Award.
NACD Distributors of the Year
Lynne Bukovic, TransChemical
Lynne Bukovic was named the 2021 Distributor of the Year for her welcoming and inclusive character as a leader in a tight-knit industry, for her effervescent fortitude in the NACD board room, and for her dedication to NACD on numerous fronts. She has been an active advocate for NACD over the last decade, always working to talk to regulators and legislators about issues impacting chemical distribution. She also worked to grow involvement in the association by recommending new companies join and encouraging her peers to volunteer in the organization.
Steve Seeler, Seeler Industries
Steve Seeler has been involved with NACD for many years as a committee member and chairman, primarily in the government advocacy arena. He is a regular participant of the Washington Fly-In, directly contributing to positive policy changes for the chemical distribution industry and has hosted several Members of Congress at his facility. Most recently, Steve has been a spokesperson for the industry on the challenges with the shipping crisis and the downstream impacts on distributors, their customers, and consumers. Steve is an exemplary leader in our industry, mentoring many peers on regulatory compliance issues and Responsible Distribution.
NACD Affiliates of the Year
Pete Downing and Rachelle Alexander, Environment & Safety Solutions, Inc.
President Pete Downing, CHMM and Vice President Rachelle Alexander of Environmental & Safety Solutions, Inc., out of Hightstown, New Jersey have many years of experience in meeting environment, health, and safety obligations and are very committed to assisting NACD members with their regulatory compliance and Responsible Distribution programs. Instead of initiating “cookie-cutter” solutions, Pete and Rachelle work hard to understand the unique needs of chemical distribution companies and develop and apply the best possible solution. The association is a better organization with their involvement and leadership.
NACD Employees of the Year
Mike Lang and Caroline Brooks, NACD
NACD is proud to announce two recipients of the Employee of the Year award for 2021. As the association celebrates the 30th anniversary of NACD’s Responsible Distribution program, it honors two individuals who have been paramount to the program’s success over the last decade, namely Michael Lang, Vice President of Education and Member Programs, and Caroline Brooks, Director, Responsible Distribution. Mike has led the program since 2007 with dedication, vision, and tremendous tenacity for member success. Caroline joined NACD in 2016 and over the last five years has enhanced member resources and training programs. NACD is proud to name them its 2021 Employees of the Year.
