Arlington, VA - The ChemEdge Conference and Trade Show, the leading chemical distribution operations and management conference in the United States hosted annually by the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), begins today in San Antonio, Texas. The three-day conference provides a forum for distributors and supply chain partners to learn about the latest products and services, develop relationships with other chemical distribution professionals, and attend interactive and informative sessions pertaining to the chemical distribution community.

This year’s conference will carry on the tradition of hosting a Responsible Distribution Workshop with a Candidacy Class Orientation and a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Regulatory Workshop in advance of the full ChemEdge program. In addition to impressive educational opportunities, NACD will host 58 exhibitors on the trade show floor with an abundance of operational good and services designed for chemical distributors’ business needs.

NACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer will lead a session with NACD Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Jennifer Gibson regarding strategies for staying on top of regulations and legislative changes within the industry and sharing tools and resources for keeping your business compliant.

• When Safety is an Attitude, Nobody Gets Hurt: With over 20 years of plant safety experience, Chris Loomis will deliver a powerful, interactive presentation to help participants further develop a 24/7 safety attitude. In this session, Chris will examine behaviors responsible for accidents and how a behavior change can prevent accidents from happening again.
• How to Describe Sustainable Practices: Not sure how to answer the dreaded “sustainability” question from customers and auditors? Tiffany Collis, MS, CSP, of Brenntag North America, Inc., discusses sustainable practices in Responsible Distribution, of which many chemical distributors already engage in, to help our industry answer sustainability questions confidently while simultaneously appeasing auditors and customers.
