ACD Welcomes Trump Administration Pro-Growth Policies, Encourages Regulatory Rollback

Arlington, VA.  Today, Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) President and CEO Eric R. Byer released the following statement applauding the recent executive action taken by President Donald J. Trump:

“For too long, the chemical distribution industry has faced uncertainty and an influx of regulatory burdens that have placed financial strain on businesses small and large. ACD applauds President Trump for taking swift action to once again bring pro-growth policies to the forefront while instituting a regulatory freeze to conduct further review of burdensome rules.

“We are also pleased to see Patrick Fuchs appointed to serve as Chair of the Surface Transportation Board (STB) and Louis E. Sola to serve as Chair of the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC). The chemical distribution industry relies on a safe and efficient transportation system to deliver the chemical products essential to Americans’ daily lives and these two leaders will be pivotal in upholding the critical nature of the STB and FMC.

“As the administration considers new trade policy, ACD encourages policymakers to consider the impact of additional tariffs to the economy, particularly as it relates to increased tariffs on Mexico and Canada. Tariffs have been costly for members of the chemical distribution industry and many of the industries we support, especially when it comes to importing products that aren’t sourced or produced in the U.S.

“We look forward to working with the new Administration on commonsense policies that will fuel a strong chemical distribution industry and a drive a robust American economy for years to come.”
