Arlington, VA – Today, Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) President and CEO Eric R. Byer released the following statement on the retirement of Carl Bentzel from the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC):
“Throughout his tenure on the FMC, Commissioner Bentzel has been an unwavering advocate for the chemical distribution industry. He has been integral to successful implementation of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act to protect ACD members and other shippers from unfair trade and business practices and he has led efforts to improve the nation’s shipping infrastructure through the Maritime Transportation Data Initiative. ACD applauds the leadership of Commissioner Bentzel to uphold the critical nature of FMC’s mission and his service and dedication will be missed.”
