Today, the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) announced the winners of the 2019 Responsible Distribution Excellence Award today. This award is given to companies that demonstrate a sustained and rigorous commitment to NACD Responsible Distribution®, the association’s third-party-verified environmental, health, safety, and security program. This year’s award has two recipients: Univar Solutions and Dober.
“These two outstanding companies embody everything we look for in responsible distributors,” said NACD President Eric R. Byer. “Univar Solutions has long been at the forefront of advancing industry-leading safe distribution practices. From their utilization of a comprehensive customer pre-qualification process for bulk-chemical deliveries to their first-class security program, they simply excel in every measurable aspect of Responsible Distribution. Our second recipient, Dober, is a trailblazer among our membership. In addition to their senior management’s commitment to waste reduction and pollution prevention, Dober also volunteers their time and resources with a number of industry stakeholder organizations. As the first-ever NACD Chemical Producer Affiliate to receive our Responsible Distribution Excellence Award, Dober has demonstrated proven leadership in furthering the tenets of Responsible Distribution.”

The Responsible Distribution Excellence Award has been presented since 2006 to more than a dozen companies who exemplify the principles of Responsible Distribution. The award recipients are nominated by third-party verifiers and peers to earn this distinctive recognition. Company representatives join NACD leadership at the ChemEdge conference in August each year to receive the award in front of the community of their colleagues and to encourage other members of the association to learn from their best practices.
