Shawn Wiram of Brenntag North America Named NACD Distributor of the Year

The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) today named Shawn Wiram, Director of Safety, Health and Environment at Brenntag North America, the 2018 Distributor of the Year. Recipients of this award demonstrate outstanding commitment to the chemical distribution community and work steadfastly on behalf of NACD and the entire industry.

Wiram has served as the chairman of the NACD ChemEdge Committee, where he continues as a member. Wiram was responsible for all Safety, Health & Environment matters for Ulrich Chemical before it was acquired by Brenntag in 2007. He was quickly promoted from his position as Environmental Services Director for Brenntag Mid-South to Director of Safety, Health and Environment of Brenntag North America in 2008.

“For more than two decades, Shawn has been committed to ensuring safe, healthy and environmentally-conscious operations in the chemical distribution industry,” said Eric R. Byer, president of NACD. “Shawn has not only worked tirelessly to uphold the tenets of Responsible Distribution within his company, he has also dedicated his valuable time and energy to advancing the mission of the association.”

The award was presented at NACD’s 47th Annual Meeting by 2017 Distributor of the Year Andrea Nagle, CEO and Joseph Fischman, president, of Chem/Serv, Inc., who said of Wiram: “Shawn has shown unparalleled enthusiasm for Responsible Distribution, and his commitment to NACD and its membership is impressive. We are proud to present such a deserving member of our chemical distribution community with this award.”
