Today, NACD President Eric R. Byer issued this statement following the resignation of Scott Pruitt as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
"NACD thanks Scott Pruitt for his leadership during his tenure as Administrator in reducing the unnecessary regulatory burden on the business community by EPA. These efforts include the rolling back of the onerous Risk Management Program rule, an initiative to strengthen transparency in science in the rulemaking process, and moving from enforcement actions to compliance assistance to enable businesses to comply with federal regulations, among others. We look forward to working with Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler to continue the Trump administration’s efforts to oversee the regulated community in a commonsense way while also protecting our workers and our communities."
