NACD Applauds Illinois Resolution Recognizing NACD Responsible Distribution®

Today, the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) welcomed the approval of Illinois House Resolution 908 sponsored by Representatives Keith Wheeler (R-District 50), David Olsen (R-District 81), John Connor (D-District 85), and Natalie Manley (D-District 98). The bill recognizes the benefits of NACD Responsible Distribution®, the association’s mandatory third-party-verified environmental, health, safety and security program.

The resolution acknowledges the program’s more than 25 years of improving safety and commends NACD for its commitment to excellence in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal. It also lauds NACD and its Illinois member companies for working to be a healthy and positive force within the commerce of chemicals.

“We applaud Reps. Wheeler, Olsen, Connor, and Manley for acknowledging Responsible Distribution and the commitment of NACD member companies in Illinois to ensure continuous improvement in their operational performance,” said NACD President Eric R. Byer.

“Chemical distributors have a $1.3 billion economic impact in Illinois and generate more than 5,400 direct jobs across the state,” continued Byer. “We are honored to receive recognition by the state of Illinois, and we look forward to growing chemical distribution’s positive impact for another 25 years through responsible, safe and secure operations in Illinois and around the country.”
