NACD’s Operational Excellence Conference ChemEdge Sees Record Attendance

Leading National Conference and Trade Show Returns to Nashville, TN

Today, ChemEdge, the leading chemical distribution operations and management conference in the United States hosted annually by the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), kicks off in Nashville with well over 400 attendees and exhibitors—a record-breaking number of chemical distribution professionals from across the country. Taking place from August 15-18, distributors and their supply chain partners alike are eager to absorb insights on managing complex regulatory and operational issues affecting their businesses.

“For nearly three decades, ChemEdge has served as a valuable resource for professionals to receive educational training on NACD Responsible Distribution®, our third-party-verified chemicals management system, and stay up-to-date on the latest regulations facing the industry,” said NACD President Eric R. Byer. “We are thrilled to return to the wonderful city of Nashville for ChemEdge this year as we continue sharing best practices for meeting the highest standards in safety and performance.”

Byer will team up with NACD Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Jennifer Gibson to give a legislative and regulatory update on the state of play in Washington given the new administration, addressing new regulatory and legislative initiatives that will impact the industry. Gibson will also host a session on regulatory compliance, sharing strategies and resources for keeping businesses compliant with changes.

Other key sessions at the conference include:

Member Exchange – Operational Safety Excellence: From forklift pedestrian safety to measuring company safety performance and everything in between, this roundtable session will provide attendees the opportunity to interact and exchange best practices with other member companies.

Compliance Safety Accountability – Improve Scores Today: Rick Malchow of J.J. Keller & Associates, Inc. will share the four Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs), and the top violations of each, that create trouble for many carriers along with actionable ways to improve Compliance Safety Accountability scores.
