Chemical Distributors Applaud Association Health Plan Legislation

Today, National Association of Chemical Distributor (NACD) President Eric R. Byer released the following statement on the introduction of H.R. 1101, the Small Business Health Fairness Act, by Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX) and Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) in the U.S. House of Representatives that would allow businesses to band together to provide their employees with better, more affordable health insurance coverage through the creation of association health plans:

“NACD is a strong supporter of association health plans. Our members are businesses large and small that employ tens of thousands of workers across the country and sell products to 750,000 customers in nearly every industry sector. By introducing this legislation today, Reps. Johnson and Walberg are setting us on a path that would enable businesses like NACD members, which on average have only 26 employees, to provide more healthcare options for their workers at a competitive cost.

“We thank Reps. Johnson and Walberg for introducing this bill and urge the U.S. House of Representatives to quickly pass this legislation to put more hardworking Americans one step closer to having access to affordable healthcare.”
