NACD Applauds Introduction of Regulatory Accountability Act

Today, NACD President Eric R. Byer issued the following statement on the introduction of H.R. 5, the Regulatory Accountability Act, by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) in the U.S. House of Representatives. In December, NACD joined nearly 380 organizations in a letter of support to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) urging passage of this legislation.

“Over the last decade, industries like chemical distribution have experienced a burdensome increase in federal regulations that have hampered their ability to create good-paying jobs.
The Regulatory Accountability Act would institute a series of reforms that would increase transparency in the rulemaking process and give policymakers the tools needed to reduce regulatory red tape that is currently hindering economic growth for businesses like chemical distributors.

“NACD is pleased to see Rep. Goodlatte making regulatory reform a priority in the new Congress, and we urge lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to swiftly pass this legislation so hardworking Americans can focus on job creation and innovation.”
