NACD Praises Hours-of-Service Fix in Continuing Resolution

NACD President Eric. R. Byer issued the following statement today lauding Congress for bipartisan passage of the continuing resolution to keep the government funded, which included a provision that will fix the hours-of-service restart provision for the trucking industry:

“Having a safe and efficient transportation sector is vital for our national economy. NACD members regularly distribute their products via freight trucks, and having regulations in place that are simple for truck drivers to understand and comply with is critical for transporting goods around the country.

“We’re pleased that Congress was able to include language to permanently fix the hours-of-service restart provision. We thank the leaders in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate for making this fix a priority in the continuing resolution.”
