NACD Applauds California State Senate Resolution Recognizing NACD Responsible Distribution®

Recently, the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) welcomed a California Senate resolution authored by State Senator Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) and State Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) recognizing the benefits of NACD Responsible Distribution®, the association’s mandatory third-party-verified environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) program.

The resolution acknowledges the 25th anniversary of Responsible Distribution and commends NACD for its commitment to safety in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal. It applauds NACD and its California member companies for working in cooperation with the Chemical Council of California to foster enhanced performance and adherence to public policies.

“We are grateful to Sens. Fuller and Galgiani for acknowledging Responsible Distribution and the commitment of NACD member companies in California to ensure continuous improvement in their operational performance,” said Mike Lang, NACD vice president of Responsible Distribution. “NACD members in California are proud of this recognition and will continue working hard to live up to the strict standards of NACD’s EHS&S program.”

“Chemical distributors have a $1.3 billion economic impact in California and provide nearly 6,000 direct jobs across the state,” said NACD President Eric Byer. “We are honored and excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Responsible Distribution with this recognition from Sens. Fuller and Galgiani, and we look forward to another 25 years of responsible, safe and secure chemical distribution in California and around the country.”
