Rep. Hultgren Visits Seeler Industries, Inc. in JolietToday, Seeler Industries, Inc. welcomed Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) into its Joliet facility to educate him on the chemical distribution industry, the challenges a small business like Seeler Industries faces, and the economic impact and safety of chemical distribution companies that participate in programs like NACD Responsible Distribution®, the National Association of Chemical Distributors’ (NACD) mandatory third-party verification environmental, health, safety, and security program. Seeler Industries is a member in good standing of the association. “We were honored to have Congressman Hultgren tour our facility today,” said Seeler Industries CEO Steve Seeler. “As a small business, we were proud to show the Congressman how we contribute to the local economy while making safety and security a top priority, and inform him of the challenges we face in this complex regulatory environment. We look forward to continuing building upon the relationship that we now have with Congressman Hultgren.” “It was a pleasure meeting with the Seeler Industries family to learn more about the work they do here in the Chicago area,” said Rep. Hultgren, who sits on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. “Their commitment to keeping their employees and the surrounding community safe through NACD Responsible Distribution® is a testament to their sense of stewardship. By touring their facility, I learned a lot about the importance of the chemical distribution industry for life in the 21st century, which will enable me to put forward effective and thoughtful policies that help Illinois small businesses continue to prosper.” Seeler Industries consists of several operating divisions relating to chemical services and the distribution of specialty, intermediate and commodity chemicals. We are a leading distributor of various grades and strengths of hydrogen peroxide, acids, caustic, glycols, etc. and toll manufacture other specialty chemicals. In addition, Seeler Industries operates a for-hire chemical terminal facility, which provides storage, transfer and packaging services to the chemical industry for both bulk liquid and dry chemicals in truck, rail and barge quantities.
